Privacy

Last updated: 19 August 2026 · Plain-English, and honest, we'll keep it that way.

The short version: We run a small, privacy-friendly setup. No Google Analytics, no advertising trackers, no cross-site profiles, and we never sell your data. We keep basic, mostly-anonymous traffic stats on our own server so we know what's working, and if you fill out a form we use what you tell us only to help you. That's it.

OpenTrailer™ is run by a small independent team, still in beta. This policy covers this website (opentrailer.org). Your self-hosted OpenTrailer™ install is your system, we don't see that data at all.

What we collect when you just visit

To understand our own traffic (which pages people read, where they came from), we run first-party analytics on our own server, not Google, not a third-party ad pixel. For each page view we record:

We also use Cloudflare in front of the site for security and speed, which gives us aggregate, privacy-first traffic stats. There are no advertising or social-media tracking pixels anywhere on this site.

What we collect when you contact us or apply

If you apply for the beta or send feedback, we store what you type (name, email, and anything you choose to share about your business) plus your IP address and approximate country, which we keep for spam/abuse prevention. We use this only to review your application, set you up, and reply. We never sell it, rent it, or turn it into a marketing list. Ask us and we'll delete it.

We send transactional email (confirmations, your beta access) through Resend. Replies come straight to a real human inbox.

What we don't do

Third parties we rely on

WhoWhat for
CloudflareSecurity, CDN, and privacy-first aggregate analytics. Processes traffic (incl. your IP) as our infrastructure provider.
ResendSending our transactional email.

That's the whole list. Fonts are served from our own server, not from Google. If the list ever grows, this page grows with it.

Your control

Want your data seen, corrected, or deleted? Email beta@opentrailer.org and we'll sort it out, no hoops.

Changes

We're actively building, so this may change as the product does. When it changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top. Nothing here is buried in legalese on purpose, if something's unclear, just ask.
